Texas Road-trip: Day 4

Shew, have I mentioned how hot it is in Texas? The high Wednesday was 105 degrees!!!

On Tuesday, my parents and I went exploring in downtown Dallas. I have been to the spot where JFK was shot before but never into the museum. I am not big on history until it is something real life that I can experience. The 6th Floor Museum was everything I thought it would be. We spent about and hour and a half walking around the 6th floor of the old Texas Book Warehouse. I had chills the entire time. The Kennedy's were an idealistic family. I could have starred at their pictures all day.

My dad was more fascinated than I was because he was alive when JFK was shot. He remembers the day and the exact moment when he heard the news. He remembers watching Jack Ruby kill Lee Harvey Oswald after the assassination of the president. We have been to JFK's grave and memorial but he never thought he would get to where he was shot. I am so happy we went to the museum, it was a wonderful experience.

Downtown Dallas

We explored around downtown for a while then grabbed lunch at Cristina's in Southlake. They have the most wonderful Mexican food ever!

Tuesday night's dinner was homemade spaghetti and meatballs! I am so glad Cheryl is moving back to Tennessee because we will be in the kitchen together A LOT!

Have a great day!

So neat that y'all were able to see this! I'm a history nerd and love the Kennedy's, so this is definitely on the to-do list. Hope the rest of your week is just as fun, try and stay cool!

105 is nice! It's been 110 quite a bit in the past few months! Worst summer ever for me to get pregnant! Glad you enjoyed your Texas time!
