Texas Road-trip: Day 3

Yesterday morning started off great because I actually slept in, but later I felt like I had been ran over by a large truck. My days never go well when I sleep past 8:00.

We all got up really late this morning and decided to go to Biscuits Cafe for breakfast. They have the most amazing sweet potato pancakes you will ever eat. I only get to eat them about once a year so it was definitely on the agenda for this trip. As always they were delicious and I ate every single bite...which meant, no lunch for me!

After breakfast we went to the Grapevine Mills Mall to do a little shopping. My Dad wasn't excited at all about this. He was so bored, when we walked by the Rainforest Cafe he wanted his picture made with the frog. Ha Ha! Once we were finished shopping we decided to go to the next Harley Davidson shop and get another shirt. Yes, this is our third Harley shop in three days. When we left the Harley shop we set the navigation to only take us on backroads for the trip home. Being from a small town we are used to taking backroads to get mostly everywhere. We figured this was a great way to see more of the Dallas area. I'm so glad we did because I saw some of the most beautiful homes. I love architecture and designing homes so I am always up for an afternoon of driving around looking at houses.

Here are a few houses in my brother's neighborhood that I snapped pictures of today...

This is not my favorite house. It sits directly on the road and is very busy.

This house belongs to Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys.
It is neat that he lives in the same neighborhood as my brother because he played high school football in the next town over from us in Tennessee.

After house hunting we decided to go back to the house and rest.

We made homemade pizzas for dinner. They are to die for. They are made from a kit that a lady sells by having a house party. The kit makes any kind of bread including loaf bread, cinnamon rolls, braids and pizza. It is super easy. If you are interested, let me know and I will send you the information on how to get a kit.

Macy and I were proud of our hard work!

Today we are going to see the John F. Kennedy museum and sight of his assassination, explore downtown Dallas and the Galleria Mall.
