sick day #2 = weekend recap!

Sick day #2 is going way better than the first. Thanks for all of your well wishes. I have spent most of the day on Pinterest, pinning away. Seriously, I have a problem.

Anyways, I want to share some pictures from my weekend. Saturday was little man's last lacrosse game so I had to snap a few pics...

Then, I threw a little surprise party for my best friend at Olive Garden...

(bf hubby being funny with the bow from the cake)

I am off to see Something Borrowed with my momma and nana! Movie review and more weekend pics to come tomorrow (or maybe tonight)!

sick day!

Hello lovelies!
Well it is true, I tested positive for strep throat. This seems to be an every season thing here lately. The doc mentioned something before about taking my tonsils out. Do you all still have your tonsils? If you had them removed, did it help?

Anyways, after leaving the doctor I went to Walgreens to wait on my medicine. This was not a good idea! When I am sick, I break all kinds of diet and eating the right way rules. The past few weeks I have been doing so good, but today, I blew it.

as if all that wasn't bad enough, I decided to get Japanese for lunch...

I will be spending the next couple of days in the bed  keeping up with my new current obsessions, Pinterest and my iPhone.

Are you obsessed with Pinterest too??? Good, go follow me and I will follow you!
I got my new iPhone last Wednesday and I seriously cannot and will not put it down. I am completely obsessed with it! Another obsession that I found through my iPhone is Instagram. It is responsible for the cool pictures above. My username is misstasha, so find me!

That's it for me today. I hope you all have a lovely day.

happy mother's day

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful Mommas!!

To my Momma- I love you more than words can express. You are a hard-working, Godly woman who has made me the woman I am today. You are my shoulder to lean on and my best friend. You are always there to lend and ear, whatever my problem may be. You have wiped my tears, loved my unconditionally, nursed my wounds, been my taxi, taught me right from wrong, proved that you really are always right and have been my biggest fan. Thank you for all you do. I hope that one day I am half the Mom you are. Love you always and forever! - your baby girl

a lovely video

Hi there,

I just wanted to share this video that my church posted right after I wrote my last post. You can read all about the damage to my area here. This video shows more footage than what others can see from the interstate. Our youth pastor Brent, offers an inspirational message on what to do in a time like this and what we can do to help.

This video offers hope. Please share this video so the people close to you, affected by the storms can get the same hope that our region did.

A Small Town Gone.

Today, my heart is hurting. During Wednesday's storms in the south a small town, twenty minutes from mine, is left in crumbles. A small town nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, so peaceful and serene, now looks like Godzilla tore through. Many of you have never heard of Glade Spring, Virginia. To most it was a well known truck stop on Interstate 81 traveling to Tennessee or West Virginia. Today, that truck stop is gone. Houses are gone. The local Wendy's is gone. The small little town at Exit 29 is gone.

I have been looking at pictures and videos since Thursday morning of this community. They broke my heart and left me in complete amazement. Not a lot happens where I live. We don't have large cities with skyscrapers, we have small towns and front porches. We don't have hurricanes, earthquakes, or tsunamis. And, normally, we don't have tornados or 100 mph winds. We may get the occasional warning but most of us know that it is very unlikely. Thanks to our beautiful mountains and low valleys we don't have many weather problems. On Wednesday, God showed us that our small town can crumble, too.

Today, I drove up the interstate because I just had to see this for myself. I was delivering water and food for the local Red Cross.  I knew that pictures and videos wouldn't do this justice. As I crest the top of the hill and started down into the town of Glade, I soon became speechless. Tractor and trailers were tossed along the sides of the road like toy trucks in a child's playroom. Trees were laying on the ground like they never once stood tall. Houses were torn to pieces, exposing the family belongings inside.

Here are videos taken of the damage...

These are pictures I took today as I drove through...

Please pray for Glade Spring, Virginia. Please pray for the South.

On a lighter note...
I am proud to be an American today! I am so proud to have troops all over the world taking down the bad guys!

This weekend was a real life Disney fairytale...A prince married his princess and the bad man is dead!
